Venue Overview

One of the most special and certainly unique points in WinterStorm's favour is its location overlooking the beach and the Firth of Clyde in the west coast town of Troon. The venue itself is within the main town buildings and comprises of three spaces within the building all used to the maximum - this year however sees some changes due to refurbisments and also COVID.

The following information is intended to both inform and hopefully reassure that we are focussed on your safety.

Troon Concert Hall

Troon Concert Hall is situated in the heart of the town centre providing WinterStorm with its main stage venue with a capacity (normally) of up to 850, the adjacent Walker Hall which is used as the main chill out area with seating, cafe, cloakroom and merchandise and access to the South Beach Sessions Stage.

General COVID Guidance

We have worked with the Environmental Heath to [provide the maximum safety and reassurance as possible to ticketholders who we understand may be anxious and attending their first event since lock down. The following summary has been applied

  • Vaccination Checks
  • Increased ventilation with open doors and windows.
  • Sanitiser throughout the building
  • One way routes where possible by staying left where possible
  • Dedicated masked and distanced standing and seated areas in main concert hall
  • Increased cleaning
  • Mask and distancing advice throughout
  • Staff and Volunteer training

Respect others space | Stay left | Mask in queues and corridors | Use sanitiser often.

Main Entrance

The entrance has changed for 2021 with access being through the side doors which will be signposted. There are double doors and allow for better flows of traffic and reduced bottlenecks on entering. These doors will be the only entrance and exit from 1.45pm on Friday and midday on Saturday with last admission at 10pm. After 10pm exit will be through the front doors adjacent to the main stage area

Main Stage

The concert hall is a traditional style venue over two floors with the downstairs being capped at 500 standing concert goers and upstairs fixed seating capped this year at 200. Access is via the corridor from the bar or the hallway. Please follow directional advice and as a rule stay left and enter and exit on the sets of doors to the left.

Masked and Spaced Areas in Main Stage

In recognition that some concert goers are still cautious we have decided to create a masked and distance area immediately in front of the sound desk in which one metre spacing and mask wearing is obligatory

In addition the seating to the right balcony upstairs will have spaced seating. Both of these areas will be monitored for usage throughout and may be altered to suit demand. Please respect these spaces

The Bar

The main bar is situated in here and will again feature a wide selection of wines, spirits, soft drink and a good selection of real ales. Masks must be worn in these areas and we ask you to respect the space of others around you. Please assume that the person next to you prefers space!

Information Desk

A public information desk and information board has been set up outside of the concert hall for this year and we can assist with restaurants, pubs, taxis and travel times as well as take bookings for beach clean and the Crazy Golf event for MOvember.

Link Corridor

The link corridor joins the main stage area with the Walker Hall chill out area and access to the Sessions Stage. This area has limited seating and standing tables and access to the Ladies and Gents - please note they have been refurbished and switched around from previous years! Beware!

Again as a rule stay left and while passing through and using the toilets please wear a mask for the sake of others.

The Walker Hall | Chill Out Area

This area provided the quiet and lit space and is always a good resting area.

Merch Desk

All of the band merch will be available in ere and is payable by both cash and card.

The cafe areas is in here with the catering providing teas, coffees and soft drinks, fork meals including the famous WinterStormer Pies as well as curry, chilli, haggis neeps and tatties, vegan dish of the day and the obligatory Rool and Square Sausage amongst other dishes through the weekend.

There is limited bench seating and tables around this area.

Please wear masks when walking through but no masks are required for eating and drinking areas.

Second Bar

There is a smaller support bar serving this room. Much smaller than the main bar so it is always suggested to use the main one and bring drinks through but it provides a convenient bar with more limited stock.

The cloakroom has been moved due to the refurbishment of the toilets which has strangely removed any dedicated cloakroom space from the building.Once again this will be manned by our friends from the RNLI and all items deposited should be accompanied by a donation.

The Sessions Stage

This is located through the Walker Hall and to the top left up the stairs. Disabled access is available but requires notification as it is through a restricted area. Capacity for this room will be capped this year. There are small toilets at this area but please note they will have much less ventilation if you are cautious please use main toilets.

Outside Area

With the move of the entrance doors to the side of the building there is now larger safer spaces to stand outside. Alcohol cannot be taken outside but this is the smoking area and a space should you need some fresh air. There is limited outdoor seating and this is going to be open to whatever the Ayrshrei weather throws at us!

Remember to stay left in entering and leaving the building.
