Travelling to Troon

Troon is actually incredibly easy to get to regardless of mode of transport. Train is the preferred method of transport for many travelling from other towns in Ayrshire and Glasgow although there are limits relating to last trains north to Glasgow and stops in between

Taxi Discounts with Thistle Cabs

Thistle Cabs are one of Ayrshire's biggest taxi operators and having taken over one of the Troon Cab companies earlier this year they have offered WinterStorm ticket holders a 20% discount - use the call centre number below or download their APP on the website below and provide the code STORM20. Getting To and From Troon By Train

Getting to WinterStorm in Troon by train is in normal times pretty much a skoosh and affordable. Most routes will have to go through Glasgow Central but from Glasgow it's still under a tenner for single at the time of writing.

Updated 21st November 2023

It is hoped that this situation will have been resolved by WinterStorm. At the moment replacement bus services appear to be operating between Prestwick and Ayr. Please ensure that you check your train travel yourselves before departure.

If travelling from the south follow M6; M74; M77 then signs for Troon via the A78 and A79.
