FRIDAY EXTRA TRAIN
Urgent Travel Update | As regular followers of what we're doing will know we've been trying to get a Midnight Express back to Glasgow for WinterStorm since day one. It's proven to be logistically impossible but we have been informed by Scotrail that they will run an extra train on Friday at 2335 from Troon stopping at Kilwinning, Johnstone, Paisley and Glasgow on the Friday night. It's not a perfect solution for GUN fans but does allow thoes who may have been relying on the train to have an extra half hour. We can't praise Scotrail's tourism man Alasdair Smart for helping us get this train out of the station (sorry!). Normal fares and rules apply.
Getting Here By Train
Getting to WinterStorm in Troon by train is pretty much a skoosh!
The mainline between Ayr and Glasgow benefits from up to four trains per hour and is about forty minutes from Glasgow Central to Troon Station.
Troon Station is 1/3rd of a mile from the concert hall which is a five minute walk or a two and half minute run! Sober...
We are again trying to arrange the Midnight Express which would see Scotrail putting on a late night train back to Glasgow with stops on the way at Irvine, Kilwinning, Paisley and Glasgow Central. We will keep you updated.
We have scheduled the topline acts to have a finishing stage time of 11pm with our special guest bands to close and we are still planning on doing the same for this year but we cannot guarantee that for both nights. The last trains back to Glasgow are bookable online via the Scotrail Website
