StormBreakers Friday

StormBreakers Explained

StormBreakers was an idea that evolved for year two of WinterStorm - four bands performing for a place on the WinterStorm mainstage and has continued ever since providing the weekend with three quality acts year after year - Anchor Lane, Everyday Heroes and Control the Storm. For 2021 it was extended to four venues across the UK - Dreadnought in Bathgate, Trillians in Newcastle, WaterBear in Brighton and Fuel Rock Club in Cardiff - and attracted some great support from bands, fans, venues and sponsors too.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 uncertainty, two of the live dates had to be cancelled and these are now online events with each of the bands submitting two videos as their showcase over the weekend of 30th and 31st of July 2021.

We are using the "normal" judges remotely but have also extended a proportion of the voting to fans and to the 'Storm Troopers (WinterStorm volunteers) helping to ensure that it won't be a "who's got the most followers" competition.

Voting is open to WinterStorm ticket holders from Thursday and on Facebook from 8pm on Friday and Saturday and closes 10pm both nights.

Tip Jar

Tip jars always sound a bit patronising but it's an understood phrase we guess. Please consider dropping something in the box for the bands as they would have been splitting the door on top of their fee. Thanks in advance.

Band Tip Jar

Caine are a Grammy considered Nu-Core band from London, England and have recently released the single "Teeth" in June of this year.

Caine are a 4 piece from London, England. Described as “If Tremonti and Don Broco had a bastard child bought up on a diet of NuMetal and Grime” (Total Rock).

We Are What We Are is the explosive single released at the start of the Covid lockdown. Rather than resting on their laurels, Caine have self filmed and released a quarantine video to coincide with the relaunch of the track.

Skinny Knowledge

“You may not know them yet, but trust us; you'll like this.” - Classic Rock Magazine

Founded in Sept 2020, Skinny Knowledge are a raucous 4-piece Alternative Rock band, based in the South of England.

Skinny Knowledge’s debut album ‘Don’t Turn Out The Lights’ on first listen is pure blood rock n’ roll tinged with punk influences. However, peel back the layers and what you’ll find at the centre is a big middle finger to a society that makes people feel like it’s not okay to not be okay. A society that creates a tormenting image of false pretence that kicks us when we’re down, rather than helping us back up. In a world full of tainted phone screens and technology, the songs presented on ‘Don’t Turn Out The Lights’ believe there’s a place inside of all of us that’s searching for some form of realism. This is honest rock n’ roll in every essence. Thundering drums, roaring guitars, and a voice with something to say.

Stone Angels

Hard-hitting, rock n’ rollin’ four-piece Stone Angels are proving to be the untamed beasts of the NWOCR scene. Coming at you from the vibrant cornucopia of Brighton’s ever-expanding music scene, this is a band that is creating its own storm in venues across the UK. Born out of the ashes of several broken bands, Stone Angels were spawned in 2011 and soon set out their own manifesto, pulling inspiration from the classic LA rock, Seattle's iconic grunge, and legendary UK rock scenes, whilst still offering a very fresh take on the classic rock genre. New album due in late 2021.

White Raven Down

White Raven Down released their debut single "Take Me" late April 2018 along with a MUSIC VIDEO to an overwhelming response. Currently sitting at 21k views on Facebook and 11k views on YouTube. The track gained recognition and airplay from such credible radio stations as BBC Essex Introducing, Hard Rock Hell and MMH Radio. Radio play has been as broad as local independent stations/podcasts and as far as Rock On The Rise and Rock Rage Radio in the States and some additional stations in Australia. Each time being met with glowing comments and new fans..

January 2020 saw the band play Giants Of Rock Fest at Butlins, Minehead where they played to a packed Introducing Stage impressing the audience so much that they voted the band to open Giants Of Rock Minehead's Main Stage 2021 exposing the band to a far larger audience...

Live the band are devastatingly BIG in their sound delivering the hooks, thrills and chills signalling a band on the brink of something huge....
