The Next Chapter | WinterStorm 2024

The line up for WinterStorm 2024, held each November in Troon on the west coast of Scotland, has been unveiled with another four days of diverse line ups and multiple genres. This is a new chapter for the event, in more ways than one, and in line up terms the organisers believe that the diversity of nationalities and genres spread over the four days make it perhaps one of the most interesting spread of bands they have ever put on.

It may well be the same venue, it may be the same three days and two stages as last year but with bands from eleven different countries and everything from melodic European metal to southern blues rock, a touch of Americana, a pinch of folk rock a large smattering of Prog, a wee bit of old school NWOBHM, some classic Lizzy, at least six female or female fronted main stage bands and an appropriate amount of AOR added in to the mix it feels like one of the most diverse line ups yet.

But one thing is certain, it still quite definitely has the feel of  a "WinterStorm Line Up"

Reflecting on the "legendary" WinterStorm 2023

What a long and wonderful weekend that was!

WinterStorm 2023 instantly became Legendary in itself and will be embedded in the memory banks of so many. From our point of view the whole weekend surpassed anything we expected - it felt as though there was some form of happy gas in the seaside air that took the whole audience, the volunteers and staff and indeed the bands to a higher place through the whole four days.

The sense of well being was truly palpable and left those of us in the front line with an immense sense of pride at having been a small part of that. There will be many more words, pictures and video from the weekend surfacing over the days and weeks to come. The journalistic reviews, the photographers' captures and of course the official video footage are all being curated just now and will be released on the website.

The Question of 2024...
