Troon is located on the west coast of Scotland and the venue sits on the beach overlooking the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran.

It is also incredibly easy to reach!

By Car:

Almost entirely by motorway now - from whatever direction you are heading for the M77/A77 and signs for Prestwick Airport. Pick up the signs to Troon and Ferry and that's you there.

Thirty minutes from Glasgow by car; an hour and a quarter from Edinburgh. Manchester in well under four.

By Train:

FRIDAY EXTRA TRAIN - Urgent Travel Update | As regular followers of what we're doing will know we've been trying to get a Midnight Express back to Glasgow for WinterStorm since day one. It's proven to be logistically impossible but we have been informed by Scotrail that they will run an extra train on Friday at 2335 from Troon stopping at Kilwinning, Johnstone, Paisley and Glasgow on the Friday night. It's not a perfect solution for GUN fans but does allow thoes who may have been relying on the train to have an extra half hour. We can't praise Scotrail's tourism man Alasdair Smart for helping us get this train out of the station (sorry!). Normal fares and rules apply.

Nearest station - Troon Railway Station on the main Ayr to glasgow route and the station is a six minute walk from the main stage.

There are up to four trains an hour stopping at Troon from Central Station in Glasgow and from Stranreat in the south for those coming from Northern Ireland.

All gigs in the Concert Hall will be scheduled to finish before the last train north.

Train Travel

By Bus:

Troon is not on a national route but does have linked services to Ayr, Kilmarnock and Glasgow linking with the rest of the network. We will be pursuing the possibility of offering coach transfers back to key locations.

For all bus enquiries contact Travel Line on 0871 200 2233.

By Plane:

Nearest airport - Troon Concert Hall is on the flight path and can handle Iron Maiden sized jets! It is only three miles from Troon and has a range (albeit limited) of inbound Ryanair flights from Europe.

Glasgow Airport is forty five minutes away and is connected to Troon via rail at Paisley Station

There is no onsite accommodation but we have a bank of hotels, B&Bs and self catering accommodation in and around Troon, Prestwick, Ayr and Irvine - all on the train line and within easy taxi or transfer distances.

All partner accommodation can be booked with ticket online securely and direct with the accommodation.
