Strathaven Ales behind WinterStorm Cask Beer
Strathaven Ales return with WinterStorm Ale
Following the success and complete sell out of the Fighting Hearts Ale, WinterStorm are delighted to confirm that Strathaven Ales will be proving the beer behind the WinterStorm Ale badge.
A 4.5% burnished red ale with a sweet citrus aroma and a lingering malt finish, the cask ale will be available over the weekend from the Main Concert Hall bar and is well worth a try.
Strathaven Ales is the pinnacle of traditional real ale brewing with a stone clad brewing kettle and well used brew-house based in an old mill dating back to the early 1800s. The mill originally manufactured crushed barley for the brewery trade and flour for the local artisan bakers and it sits next to the river Avon near the market town of Strathaven.
They consider their beers to be very traditional, their brewing, unlike modern facilities is a hands-on labour-intensive process crafted by three generations of the same family.
Manufacturing in an old building brings its challenges and they have retained many of the original mill features and a large part of the original gearing. Although this often gets in the way it is part of what ensures the beer has a character not achieved in modern production units.
WinterStorm are delighted to be showcasing Strathaven Ales over the festival weekend and hope it is year two of a long partnership
